Aristotle G. Kalivretenos, Ph. D., CEO and COO
Dr. Kalivretenos co-founded and serves as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Aurora Analytics LLC. Prior to founding Aurora, Dr. Kalivretenos was employed by Senseonics from 1998 until 2004, focusing on the design and development of novel polymer-based fluorescent glucose recognition chemistry as part of the development of an implantable continuous glucose monitor (CGM) for diabetics. As a faculty member in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at UMBC from 1992 until 1998, Dr. Kalivretenos’ research in the CNS area focused on bio-organic studies of channel forming peptides, including the development of solid-phase and solution-phase synthetic methodology for amine/peptide/protein synthesis and modification. A practical outcome of this work has been the ongoing development of diagnostic agents for the detection of biogenic amines. Dr. Kalivretenos earned a B.S. in chemistry from Clemson University and a Ph.D. in organic chemistry from Colorado State University, followed by a post-doctoral fellowship, focusing in the CNS area, at Columbia University.
Louis Reichel. Ph.D., Senior Scientist
Dr. Louis Reichel serves as Senior Scientist at Aurora Analytics LLC. He earned an M.S. at the University of New Orleans and a Ph.D. at the University of Southern Mississippi in Organic Synthesis, followed by post-doctoral fellowships in the areas of organic and polymer synthesis and natural product separation. In his career he has been involved in process development at the industrial commercial scale, method development and validation, Quality Control, and setting up GMP laboratories for FDA approvals.
Dr. Guneet Kumar, Ph.D., Senior Scientist
Dr. Guneet Kumar is a Senior Scientist at Aurora Analytics LLC. She earned a M.Sc in Organic Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology and a Ph.D in Biochemical Engineering at Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University, Blacksburg, Virginia, U.S.A. She has extensive experience in small scale chemical organic synthesis and purification/separation technologies for chemical/bio-technology product development. She worked for several years in biomass/algae conversion to chemicals/fuel technology, and scale-up of aerobic and anaerobic microbial fermentation and product separation. She has been involved in regulatory issues for drugs, GLP and cGMP regulations, and QA / QC for chemical/biotechnology products.
