Tried and True

In collaboration with Dr. Paul Smith of the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) Aurora has developed a two class Organic Laboratory experiment for benzamide synthesis utilizing solution phase synthesis and modern SPOC utilizing Si-HOBt. The lab has been used in the 2nd semester Organic Laboratory Class at UMBC.

Looking Ahead

Building on the use of Immobilized HOBt for amide and sulfonamide synthesis, a variety of Organic Lab Experiments are possible. Applications include the preparation of amide and sulfonamide combinatorial libraries as well as derivatization for TLC, GC and HPLC analysis.
